Job Summary

The Human Resources Manager is a key member of the Juneau Construction Company team, responsible for the administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource function. This role requires a strong understanding of employment laws, regulations, and industry trends, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement human resource policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Human Resources to develop departmental goals, objectives, and systems to align with company strategic goals.
  • Manage employee benefits, including program development, renewals, and claim resolution.
  • Oversee the HRIS platform, ensuring accurate and complete employee records, and maintaining the validity and accuracy of employee-specific data.
  • Participate in audits to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Provide support and guidance to management and other staff on complex, sensitive, and specialized issues.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition Department to ensure a smooth and efficient hiring, pre-employment, and onboarding process.
  • Develop and implement personnel policies and procedures, and maintain the company handbook.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws, regulations, and industry trends.
Work Environment

This role is hybrid in nature, with the opportunity to work in a remote capacity up to two days/week. The position may require extended periods of sitting and/or standing, talking both in person and over technological avenues, and lifting up to 20 lbs. as needed. Travel within the Juneau Construction Company footprint may be required for various events and meetings.
