Senior Network Engineer for Combat Air Forces Distributed Mission Operations

Job Summary
Huntington Ingalls Industries is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team supporting the Combat Air Forces Distributed Mission Operations (CAF DMO) program. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and planning network systems, providing specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture, and conducting testing of network systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Designs and plans network systems to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
- Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture, including hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools.
- Conducts testing of network systems to ensure they meet requirements and are secure.
- Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing.
- Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
Requirements
- 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
- Experience working in a primarily Cisco environment.
- Experience troubleshooting network issues at all layers of the OSI model.
- Experience working with TACLANE encryption devices.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize and address issues as they arise.
- Ability to work in a small team, but also able to work individually with minimal oversight.
- Must have current Cisco or another network related certification.
- DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II certification.
- Must be a US citizen, currently hold and able to maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Requirements
- Maintains current Cisco or other network related certification.
- Experience working with TACLANE encryption devices.
- Previous experience managing a USAF distributed training network.
- Experience in Combat Air Force (CAF) operations and training.
