Network Engineer for Combat Air Forces Distributed Mission Operations

At Huntington Ingalls Industries, we are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team in Orlando, FL. As a Network Engineer for the Combat Air Forces Distributed Mission Operations (CAF DMO) program, you will be responsible for designing and planning network systems, providing specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture, and conducting testing of network systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designs and plans network systems to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
- Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture, including hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools.
- Conducts testing of network systems to ensure they meet performance and security requirements.
- Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing.
- Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
Requirements:
- 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or 3 years experience with a Master's degree in a related field, or 9 years relevant experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working in a primarily Cisco environment.
- Experience troubleshooting network issues at all layers of the OSI model.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize and address issues as they arise.
- Ability to work in a small team, but also able to work individually with minimal oversight.
- Must have current Cisco or another network related certification.
- DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II certification.
- Must be a US citizen, currently hold and able to maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Requirements:
- Maintains current Cisco or other network related certification.
- Experience working with TACLANE encryption devices.
- Previous experience managing a USAF distributed training network.
- Experience in Combat Air Force (CAF) or Mobility Air Force (MAF) operations and training.
Physical Requirements:
- May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
