Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Remittance and Adjustments Analyst to join our team at Tidelands Health. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely posting of payments and adjustments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce and review balancing reports to identify trends and discrepancies.
  • Develop and implement ad hoc reports to resolve billing cycle issues.
  • Meet productivity and quality assurance standards for account follow-up.
  • Analyze and resolve payment posting errors, including electronic posting rejections.
  • Support the conversion to electronic payments and adjustments.
  • Train colleagues on timely and accurate payment and adjustment posting.
  • Ensure payments and adjustments are posted within two days of receipt.
  • Research and resolve system transaction control errors.
  • Post daily payments and adjustments, including zero payment posting.
  • Update remittance advice codes and dictionaries for accurate posting.
  • Reconcile cash posting requests with vendors and affiliated providers.
Requirements
  • High school diploma with three years of healthcare patient accounting experience or an associate's degree in a business-related field with one year of experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to type 45 words per minute.
  • Working knowledge of fax machines, calculators, and copiers.
  • Hospital business office experience preferred.
  • Computation, posting, and follow-up on insurance remits/EOB preferred.
  • Cashier experience preferred.
  • Medical terminology preferred.
  • Accounting experience required.
Skills
  • Ability to work under tight time schedules.
Physical Requirements

This role requires frequent standing, sitting, and walking, as well as the ability to exert up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and up to 5 pounds of force frequently.
