POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Assistant Manager of Retail Excellence plays a vital role in assisting the Store Manager to foster a customer-centric and product-oriented sales culture. This position is integral to ensuring that our core values and guiding principles are reflected in all aspects of store operations, including overseeing sales activities, safeguarding assets, and managing human resources functions to deliver an exceptional customer experience and optimize profitability.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performance Management
  • Evaluate sales data and key performance indicators to identify business needs; collaborate with the Store Manager to implement effective sales strategies.
  • Set clear expectations and hold the store team accountable for meeting brand standards and performance metrics.
  • Manage payroll and inventory budgets efficiently.
  • Oversee essential operational tasks such as scheduling, conducting shrink audits, managing physical inventory, and ensuring accurate payroll documentation.
  • Execute all financial processes in compliance with company policies, including cash handling and transaction accuracy.
  • Ensure adherence to legal requirements, loss prevention protocols, and operational procedures; conduct training to reinforce compliance.
  • Manage inventory processes, including receipt and dispatch, and maintain optimal merchandise levels on the sales floor.
  • Ensure that visual merchandising and store maintenance reflect the brand's standards.
  • Foster a high-performance culture by motivating the sales team to achieve sales and productivity targets.
  • Provide training and coaching to enhance the selling team's product knowledge both online and in-store.

Team Development
  • Inspire and motivate the store team by creating a shared vision and exemplifying core values.
  • Encourage a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Communicate effectively with the store team and Store Manager to facilitate positive changes.
  • Pursue personal development opportunities and actively seek feedback to enhance leadership skills.

Customer Engagement
  • Demonstrate and promote the principles of exceptional customer service, ensuring a seamless omni-channel experience.
  • Exhibit sales expectations by employing various techniques and sharing product knowledge with customers; assist in product selection based on customer preferences.
  • Promptly address and resolve customer inquiries and concerns.
  • Ensure a swift and efficient checkout process while staying informed on payment policies and procedures.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients through customer engagement initiatives.

Talent Management
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, and developing a high-performing team.
  • Support and implement training programs and follow-up initiatives.
  • Evaluate and coach the store team on performance standards.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to address human resources matters effectively.
  • Enhance team engagement by recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all employment practices and policies.

Additional Responsibilities:
Other duties may be assigned as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in retail management preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to adapt to technology utilized by the company.
  • Proven track record of exceptional customer service and leadership.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and team-building skills.
  • Knowledge of administrative aspects of retail operations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and staff.
  • Regular attendance is essential to meet company objectives; flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Frequent walking and standing throughout the shift.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent climbing as part of job duties.
