The State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Behavioral Health Director of Forensic Services. This role will oversee the administration of statewide forensic services, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of care to individuals with mental illness and/or substance use disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Administer staff and operations of forensic services, ensuring compliance with statutes and departmental policies.
- Supervise and direct assigned staff in the execution of clinical and administrative responsibilities.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and judicial officials to improve services to citizens with mental illness and/or substance use disorders.
- Develop and maintain a database to assist in planning and evaluation activities.
- Work with facilities, public and private groups, advisory and review boards to achieve continuity of services for offenders with mental illness and/or substance use disorders.
- Masters Degree in a clinical discipline, public health administration, health care administration, or hospital administration.
- 10 years of professional experience in behavioral health, with 3 years in an administrative capacity and 1 year in behavioral health services in criminal justice or law enforcement systems.
- Ability to analyze comprehensive data and recommend effective services.
