About the RoleThe Associate General Counsel will serve as a legal advisor to the company and its affiliates globally. This role will perform general counsel work, including interpreting laws and regulations, preparing legal opinions, memoranda, and other legal documents, and rendering legal advice and counsel to executives, officers, management, and other employees.
Key Responsibilities- Advise executives, senior management, and other employees on the interpretation, application, and enforcement of local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Advise executives, senior management, and other employees on the legal implications of anticipated policy and operational decisions.
- Manage outside counsel and play a major role in reviewing, negotiating, and drafting contracts.
- Coordinate significant threatened or pending litigation, claims, and regulatory actions and oversee decision-making process and settlement proposals.
- Remain current on significant litigation, laws, and regulations affecting the group companies.
- Bachelor's Degree required. Juris Doctorate from an accredited Law School in the U.S.
- State Bar Admission in U.S.
- Minimum 2 years transportation/logistics experience, specifically B2B organizations.
- A self-starter with a strong work ethic, team mentality, and a positive attitude who is highly driven and self-motivated.
- Experience in and enthusiasm to work in a multi-cultural environment.
- Commercial acumen and demonstrable experience of business partnering and supporting business performance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
A reasonable estimate of the available annual pay scale for this position is: $140,000-$160,000 per year. The actual compensation offered may vary depending on qualifications and other factors essential to the performance of duties and is determined by the hiring authority.
