Senior Legal Counsel

The JobThe Legal Counsel will provide advice and counsel on a broad range of issues related to the operations of a Medicare Advantage health plan. This includes preparing, negotiating, and reviewing vendor and provider contracts, as well as providing advice on health information, privacy, and security regulatory matters.
Key Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with the legal department to fulfill the legal, contractual, and regulatory obligations of the organization.
- Draft, review, advise, and negotiate a broad range of contracts, including vendor services and provider agreements.
- Provide advice and assistance to the Compliance department in drafting and responding to filings or inquiries from regulators.
- Conduct legal research and provide analysis on state and federal laws pertaining to health plans, medical groups, managed care, and provider contracting.
- Act independently to provide well-informed and timely legal advice on complex and sensitive healthcare matters.
- Monitor and research market and industry trends of interest to the company and anticipate changes impacting operations.
- Law Degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- California Bar membership in good standing.
- 3-5 years of relevant legal experience at a reputable law firm and/or established healthcare company legal department.
- Extensive experience negotiating, drafting, and interpreting commercial agreements.
- Knowledge of federal and state healthcare law related to managed care, Medicare Advantage, HIPAA, and Fraud Waste and Abuse.
- Base Pay Range: $147,900 to $236,600 annually.
