Electrical Engineer Avionics

Array Labs is revolutionizing the field of distributed radar imaging with a constellation of satellites that will provide the first accurate, real-time 3D model of the world.

As an electrical engineer on the avionics team, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the design of the first autonomous formation flying distributed satellite constellation.

In this critical role, you will be collaborating with flight software, spacecraft operations, mechanical, radar, and radio frequency engineering teams to build cutting-edge hardware, rapidly moving all the way from clean-sheet designs into full operational deployment in space.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop system-level and module-level avionics electronics for a groundbreaking multi-function distributed satellite constellation
  • Work closely with flight software, GNC, mechanical, and spacecraft operations teams to design and validate avionics electronics
  • Develop circuit designs and build simulations to analyze system performance
  • Design electronics for the orbital environment
  • Create spacecraft hardware requirements, specifications, and test procedures
  • Support flight software bring-up and validation by developing and implementing hardware test plans
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • Experience in electronics design, fabrication, and test
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Learns new concepts rapidly, completely, and in a self-directed manner
  • High levels of self-motivation and personal accountability
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under significant time constraints
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in electronics design for mission-critical or space-flight applications
  • 2+ years of experience designing avionics or flight-control systems
  • 2+ years of experience working in fast-paced/startup environments
  • Experience in the design, integration, and test of avionics and flight-control systems
  • Experience designing spacecraft electronics
  • Strong understanding of computers and programming languages
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly cross-functional role
  • Experience working in a lab and using laboratory test equipment
ITAR Requirements:

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Salary: $160,000 - $200,000 a year

Interview Process: We will conduct our interviews via video conferencing; the typical process takes around 2-3 weeks to complete from start to finish.
