POSITION TITLE: Substitute Teacher (Preschool-8th Grade)

SUPERVISOR: Principal(s)
Position Objective: The primary duty of the Substitute Teacher is to enhance the educational experience of our Early Education through Intermediate School students across diverse classroom settings.
Qualifying Characteristics: The ideal candidate is a Christian with a genuine and mature relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrating a commitment to Christian education in both professional and personal realms. The individual must exhibit the ability to work autonomously, manage multiple tasks, handle frequent interruptions, and foster positive relationships with parents, students, and colleagues. A strong ethical standard and confidentiality regarding student and staff information are essential. The capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines is crucial, along with a keen attention to detail and a preference for a fast-paced work environment. Candidates are encouraged to review our Statement of Faith Agreement.
Educational and Experience Requirements: A Bachelor's Degree is preferred for this role. A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of successful classroom management experience is desirable. Proficiency in electronic office applications (e.g., Microsoft, Google) is required, along with telephone skills, familiarity with general office equipment, and strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Implement lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher and enhance class activities as needed
- Record attendance in accordance with school protocols
- Assist students in understanding and adhering to school/classroom regulations
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, bathroom breaks, hallways, field trips, and carline as assigned
- Provide students with appropriate examples, emotional support, and general guidance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Primarily indoors (90% of the time); must be able to remain stationary for extended periods while working on a computer and capable of moving supplies weighing up to 35 pounds. Must be able to assist children for health and safety purposes.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Exposure to outdoor elements when moving across campus; variations in temperature and humidity; potential for elevated noise levels; usage of computer/monitor screens; standard classroom with exterior windows.
