Job Overview

Greenwood Christian Academy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Substitute Teacher to support the learning of our Early Education - Intermediate School students in a variety of classroom environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out lesson plan instructions from the classroom teacher and supplement class activities if lessons end early
  • Take attendance according to school procedures
  • Help students to understand and follow the school/classroom rules and procedures
  • Supervises students during lunch, recess, bathroom breaks, hallways, field trips, and carline as assigned
  • Supports students by providing proper example, emotional support, and general guidance
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred for this position
  • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years successful classroom management is preferred
  • Proficiency in electronic office products (i.e. Microsoft, Google, etc.) is required along with telephone proficiency, working knowledge of general office equipment, and extensive written/verbal communication
Physical and Work Environment

Indoors 90% of the time; must be able to remain stationary for long periods of time while working with a PC, and must be able to move supplies, copier paper, up to 35 pounds. Must be able to assist children for health and safety reasons. Exposure to the elements when crossing campus. Change in temperature/humidity; potential for excessive noise, using computer/monitor screen; Average classroom with exterior windows.
