About the Role:The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our swim school, including staffing, pool operations, cash management, customer service, retail and vending departments, private party operations, and workplace employee activities. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong ability to motivate and manage a team, drive sales and revenue growth, and maintain a safe and sanitary swim environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Direct and control daily operations to ensure the school is running per GSS standard operating procedures.
- Manage staff to ensure high productivity, excellent performance, and positive employee satisfaction.
- Train and oversee aquatics department to provide superior swim instruction to students.
- Provide sales and marketing training to qualified sales staff.
- Direct retail and vending departments to ensure a proper mix of products and pricing.
- Train and oversee private party staff to maintain GSS standard operating procedures.
- Gain knowledge and experience in iClassPro software for bookings, class scheduling, reporting, and administrative functions.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge and experience in GSS pool operations for a safe and sanitary swim environment.
- Initiate and oversee workplace employee activities to improve employee satisfaction.
- Direct and oversee the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and all safety procedures.
- Maintain current certifications and stay up-to-date professionally on aquatics and management.
- Schedule staff and manage payroll.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree in business, sports management, communications, or equivalent desired.
- Three to five years of management experience preferred.
- Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications required.
The General Manager will work in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels and regular exposure to heat and humidity.
Goldfish Swim School - Bedford is an independently owned and operated franchise. The respective Franchisee is the employer at each Goldfish Swim School location. Each franchisee can set their own wages, benefit programs, and terms and conditions of employment, which may vary at each Goldfish Swim School location.
