About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Cognitive Research Coordinator to join our team at the University of Iowa Department of Otolaryngology. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a pioneering project exploring cognitive and psychosocial functioning and quality of life in adult cochlear implant users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participant Engagement and Coordination: Recruit and organize participants for research studies.
  • Participant Guidance: Guide participants through language tasks, neuropsychological assessments, hearing evaluations, and smartphone technology for real-world data gathering.
  • Scoring and Data Management: Accurately score and manage data collected from research studies.
  • Paperwork: Oversee and navigate essential regulatory paperwork associated with human subject research.
  • Collaboration: Work within a diverse, multidisciplinary study team to achieve research goals.
Research Activities

As a Cognitive Research Coordinator, you will conduct research activities, collect and score data, and assist in the preparation of progress reports and manuscripts/publications. You will also contribute to the technical writing of research findings and present results at various meetings.

Administrative and Project Management

You will assist in preparing vital Institutional Review Board documents, track project progress, and make recommendations regarding the validity of research subjects and data. You will also coordinate software licenses as necessary to complete projects.

Requirements
  • Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in psychology, speech and hearing, or communication science.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Evidence of strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in word processing, database management, and basic statistics.
  • At least 2 years of experience carrying out research protocols.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $62,400 - $83,200, depending on experience and qualifications.
