Job Title: Equipment Superintendent

Kiewit is seeking an experienced Equipment Superintendent to join our team. As an Equipment Superintendent, you will be responsible for coordinating, facilitating, and executing equipment activities in support of all construction projects.

Job Summary

The Equipment Superintendent will provide field leadership and management of equipment maintenance and readiness to meet specific project needs. This includes ensuring project safety and quality performance through personal example and supervision activities. The successful candidate will also be responsible for controlling and tracking all aspects of equipment cost, providing senior management with equipment recap reports, and accountable for the training, development, coaching, and morale of direct and indirect reports.

Responsibilities
  • Technical Responsibilities:
    • Provide field leadership and management of equipment maintenance and readiness to meet specific project needs.
    • Ensure project safety and quality performance through personal example and supervision activities.
    • Controlling and tracking all aspects of equipment cost.
    • Providing senior management with equipment recap reports.
    • Accountable for the training, development, coaching, and morale of direct and indirect reports.
  • Administrative Responsibilities:
    • Providing senior management with equipment recap reports.
    • Coordinate work with other co-workers on the job.
    • Perform other duties as required by supervisor or manager.
    • Work within Company data systems to record and track equipment maintenance and utilization.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or similar type experience in a construction-related position.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a mechanical-related field.
  • Knowledge of construction safety and current federal and provincial requirements.
  • Broad knowledge of engineering and construction methods.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer skills.
  • Exhibits integrity and ethical behavior in all things.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness, ability, and enthusiasm for travel, sometimes on short notice.
Working Conditions
  • Fast-paced office and project field environment.
  • Must be able to interact professionally with all levels of management while simultaneously managing a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively.
  • Regularly sit, stand, walk, and talk and listen.
  • Occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.

  • Work productively and meet deadlines timely.
  • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
  • Perform work safely and effectively.
