Job Title: Equipment Superintendent

Kiewit Corporation is seeking an experienced Equipment Superintendent to join our team. As an Equipment Superintendent, you will be responsible for coordinating, facilitating, and executing equipment activities in support of all construction projects.

About the Role

The Equipment Superintendent will provide field leadership and management of equipment maintenance and readiness to meet specific project needs. This includes ensuring project safety and quality performance through personal example and supervision activities. Additionally, the Equipment Superintendent will be accountable for controlling and tracking all aspects of equipment cost, providing senior management with equipment recap reports, and developing and maintaining team cohesion among district, internal joint venture, and external joint venture partner employees.

Responsibilities
  • Technical Responsibilities:
    • Provide field leadership and management of equipment maintenance and readiness to meet specific project needs.
    • Ensure project safety and quality performance through personal example and supervision activities.
    • Controlling and tracking all aspects of equipment cost.
    • Providing senior management with equipment recap reports.
    • Accountable for the training, development, coaching, and morale of direct and indirect reports.
    • Accountable for the retention and engagement of direct and indirect reports.
    • Accountable for developing and maintaining team cohesion among district, internal joint venture, and external joint venture partner employees.
  • Administrative Responsibilities:
    • Providing senior management with equipment recap reports.
    • Coordinate work with other co-workers on the job.
    • Perform other duties as required by supervisor or manager.
    • Work within Company data systems to record and track equipment maintenance and utilization.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or similar type experience in a construction-related position that provides the knowledge and experience required for this position.
  • Must possess a minimum of 5 years' experience in a mechanical-related field.
  • Knowledge of construction safety and current federal and provincial requirements.
  • Broad knowledge of engineering and construction methods.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer skills.
  • Exhibits integrity and ethical behavior in all things; understands Kiewit ethics policy of knowing and acting within policies and practices.
  • Must possess strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness, ability, and enthusiasm for travel, sometimes on short notice.
  • Must be a self-starter and highly motivated with the desire to do what it takes to get the job done.
Working Conditions
  • Fast-paced office and project field environment.
  • Must be able to interact professionally with all levels of management while simultaneously managing a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively.
  • Regularly sit, stand, walk, and talk and listen.
  • Occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Other Requirements
  • Regular, reliable attendance.
  • Work productively and meet deadlines timely.
  • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
  • Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
  • Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
  • May work at various different locations and conditions may vary.
