Job Description

As a Field Service Technician with Veolia Environnement SA, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our water treatment systems for the Food and Beverage industry. Your primary responsibility will be to provide commissioning, service, and maintenance activities on product and wastewater treatment systems for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Commissioning and Maintenance: Safely commission, operate, monitor, repair, and maintain water treatment systems, including media filtration, softening, reverse osmosis, ion exchange, de-oxygenation, electro-deionization, ultrafiltration, ultraviolet sanitization, chemical injection, clean-in-place, and related instrumentation and controls.
  • Customer Support: Provide technical support to customers, including troubleshooting and resolving issues related to water treatment systems.
  • Analytical Testing: Perform analytical testing, such as turbidity, hardness, chlorine, pH, CO2, O2, SDI, TOC, and other site-specific testing requirements.
  • Chemical Injection Systems: Monitor and maintain chemical injection systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshooting: Carry out mechanical, electrical, and controls troubleshooting on equipment such as valves, air compressors, ejectors, process pumps, blowers, and instrumentation.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain site documentation, and provide customers with detailed technical summaries of work performed.
  • Consultation: Consult with customer management and operation teams to ensure seamless integration of our services.
  • Contract Compliance: Ensure contract compliance of volume and quality specifications.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma / GED / Home School Certification OR international equivalent, and 2+ years' experience in service/maintenance or equivalent in an industrial environment.
  • Experience: Bachelor or Associates Degree in Science/Engineering (STEM), technical certificate in Instrumentation, Controls, or programming, or water treatment equipment including UF/MBR. Working experience with PLC control systems, PLC programming, and troubleshooting is preferred.
  • Travel: Ability to travel extensively, with a valid driver's license.
  • Background: Prior experience in the production of water used in the manufacturing of food products and/or drinking water is a plus.
  • Skills: Experience with water treatment systems, including filtration, ultrafiltration, degasification, reverse osmosis, electro-deionization, deionization, ultraviolet sanitization, chemical injection, clean-in-place, etc. Good background in electrical systems, 120VAC and 480 VAC. Good knowledge of instrumentation and low voltage, analog, and digital communication, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Soft Skills: Demonstrated ability to work independently and remotely with project teams. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to meet all customer site requirements. Ability to travel 50%+.
