Department Objective:

The aim of the Production Engineering Department is to proficiently guide team members in executing daily manufacturing tasks while implementing Lean Manufacturing principles such as TPS, 5S, and JIT. This department is dedicated to analyzing design and production processes, ensuring safety and quality, and enhancing operational efficiency.

Role Objective:

The Production Engineer will be responsible for planning and coordinating maintenance activities, tooling, and production engineering efforts across various departments. This role requires expertise in production engineering to support TACG's operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess manufacturing methods for cost efficiency and practicality before and after engineering approvals.
  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement and cost-saving projects.
  • Manage engineering changes related to production processes, ensuring alignment with quality standards and customer needs.
  • Employ CAD software for the design and development of equipment and component drawings, including 3-D modeling and process simulations.
  • Possess a strong understanding of machining processes, robotics, and engineering principles.
  • Set priorities in collaboration with the Production Engineering Supervisor, maintaining thorough documentation.
  • Research, justify, procure, and monitor company assets.
  • Collaborate with the Production Engineering Supervisor to oversee tooling construction, ensuring precision and timely completion.
  • Conduct layout reviews for plant expansions or modifications, coordinating with external contractors as necessary.
  • Drive cost-reduction initiatives aimed at lowering production costs.
  • Fabricate specialized tools as required.
  • Support Kaizen initiatives to enhance equipment efficiency and reduce maintenance expenses.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of all new tools, including CAD and SolidWorks files.
  • Assist the maintenance team with improvements related to tools and equipment.
  • Act as a Project Manager or provide support to tooling engineers for successful project execution and safety compliance.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering is required, with 2-5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or production engineering preferred.
  • Experience with CNC machinery and knowledge of cutting tools and methods is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in electrical and mechanical design and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to analyze data and present actionable insights for management decision-making.
