Department Objective:
The Quality Assurance department is committed to developing and implementing processes, protocols, and procedures aimed at monitoring, testing, and evaluating manufacturing operations. The primary objective is to guarantee that every unit produced consistently meets the established quality standards.
Role Objective:
Apply quality assurance methodologies to ensure that manufactured products fulfill customer specifications and operational availability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that products are manufactured to meet or surpass customer quality standards.
- Facilitate new product introductions and customer evaluations by spearheading projects and managing PPAP/APQP activities.
- Conduct root cause investigations and devise effective corrective actions.
- Gather and assess data to eliminate redundant processes and enhance existing workflows (reducing waste and rework).
- Oversee and enhance supplier quality performance.
- Establish and uphold visual management techniques through Control Boards, Operation Manuals, and other visual tools.
- Encourage continuous improvement initiatives to systematically lower manufacturing costs.
- Adhere to the 5S methodology within the Quality Assurance department.
- Ensure that all quality and procedural documentation is up-to-date and properly managed.
- Monitor and support the Statistical Process Control (SPC) program.
- Guarantee compliance with ISO standards.
- Plan and coordinate Layered Process Audits and address findings accordingly.
- Manage quality-related changes through the Change Management Process.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance plant operations.
- Oversee the investigation and prompt resolution of customer complaints and warranty issues.
- Ensure that effective corrective measures are implemented to prevent recurrence of quality failures.
- Conduct supplier evaluations as necessary.
- Prepare daily and monthly reports on quality metrics and ongoing QA activities.
- Ensure that assigned Goals & Objectives are achieved.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications, Education, Experience, & Skills:
- A four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience with the ability to interpret technical drawings, monitor SPC, and apply design of experiments, Gage R&R, and sampling techniques.
- Familiarity with quality management systems, including ISO9001, IATF16949, and TS16949.
- Advanced skills in process analysis, customer complaint resolution, and defect evaluation.
- Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Strong public speaking skills and the ability to present to management with confidence.
- Proficient in both written and spoken English.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural, team-oriented environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and using hands for various tasks.
- Occasional reaching, climbing, balancing, and performing physical activities.
- Ability to lift and/or move at least 10 pounds as needed.
- Specific vision capabilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Capability to maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.
