Position Summary:
As an EHS Process Engineering Specialist, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the technical aspects of production processes, focusing on planning, Six Sigma methodologies, and the integration of innovative technical activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong engineering capabilities, a solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles, and extensive knowledge of plant support systems. In this role, you will also be responsible for establishing communication and procedures with regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance and optimize the foam extrusion manufacturing process.
- Lead projects aimed at improving plant efficiency and safety from inception to completion.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to develop and implement maintenance protocols.
- Provide hands-on support to the production team for process adjustments and machinery troubleshooting.
- Implement technical and digital monitoring systems for foam extrusion equipment.
- Analyze data to propose process enhancements and reactions.
- Utilize CAD software to design machinery components and prepare budgets for new production lines.
- Independently establish key performance metrics, recipes, and objectives; create action plans to achieve desired outcomes.
- Coordinate with company resources to conduct production trials and tests for new product initiatives.
- Be available for emergency calls and provide hands-on troubleshooting support in a continuous operation environment.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of machinery and technical processes within a manufacturing context.
- Proven experience in managing complex process engineering projects.
- Educational background in process engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or electrical engineering.
- Proficiency in CAD software, technical documentation, and Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Office365, Excel).
- Experience in designing and implementing electrical wiring and programming (PLC) is a plus.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including walking, standing, stooping, and climbing.
- Capability to lift weights up to 60lbs.
- Willingness to respond to emergency calls outside of regular working hours for troubleshooting support.
- Preference for candidates within a reasonable commuting distance to the facility.
- Dedication to quality, safety, and effective communication.
