Position Overview

Exciting Opportunity for Experienced Legal Professionals

Real Estate Counsel

Minimum of 7 years of experience required

This role is with a prestigious Amlaw 200 firm seeking a Real Estate Counsel for their Washington DC office.

This position is ideal for a seasoned Real Estate Senior Associate or Counsel eager to engage with high-profile transactions while enjoying a balanced lifestyle.

The firm, known for its Boutique/Lifestyle approach, consistently handles significant deals, collaborating with major firms and financial institutions.

It may appeal to those currently at an AmLaw 100 firm who are seeking a more manageable workload, better opportunities for business development, or simply a more satisfying work-life balance.

This firm offers a supportive environment, focusing on the professional growth of its attorneys, with a genuine pathway to partnership.

With a dedicated Business Development team, the firm provides resources for attorneys to market themselves and cultivate their client base.

The legal team is compact yet highly active, primarily representing issuers in various transactions.

The firm specializes in multifamily properties, shopping centers, and development projects, with a focus on Joint Ventures rather than leasing or Land Use matters.

Candidates with experience in REITS transactions will find this opportunity particularly fitting.

If you possess over 7 years of expertise in Real Estate law and are keen to explore this role further, we encourage you to reach out for a detailed discussion.

Compensation for a 7th-year Associate transitioning to Counsel is set at $285k, with potential for advancement to Special Counsel, offering a maximum compensation of $330k.

The firm maintains a billable hour target of 1900 for the first tier bonus of $25k, with a second tier bonus of approximately $50k for those achieving 2200 hours.

Additionally, there is a discretionary bonus structure that could elevate total bonuses to around $90k.

The firm provides 50 wellness hours, allowing flexibility in how they are utilized—whether for billable hours, non-billable work, or vacation time.

Utilizing these hours towards billable time reduces the target to 1850, facilitating a more manageable daily workload.

If this opportunity aligns with your professional aspirations, we look forward to discussing your experience and the potential fit for this role.
