Job Summary

The Senior Project Engineer - Conveyance Systems Specialist will play a key role in supporting the Project Manager in the planning, execution, and finalization of projects related to conveyance systems for viastore North America. This position will also collaborate with the Proposal Development Manager to develop system layouts and engineering calculations to meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Sales Department to create conveyor system layouts and equipment applications.
  • Work with conveyor suppliers to obtain equipment quotes and ensure compliance with viastore's drawing standards.
  • Develop system layout and elevation view drawings for client approval and installation prints.
  • Manage order entry functions for mechanical equipment from viastore business units or outside vendors.
  • Assist the Project Manager in tracking project milestones and deliverables.
  • Participate in site activities, including installation support, commissioning, testing, and standby support.
  • Ensure that procured materials are within the approved budget.
  • Assist the Controls Engineer, Software Engineer, and Project Manager in developing system description of operation, commissioning, and acceptance testing documents.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise junior engineers.
  • Act as the Project Manager for small to medium-sized projects or change orders on large projects.
  • Participate in company functions and meetings, including project post-mortem meetings.
  • Follow all ISO procedures and documentation related to viastore's processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 10 years or more experience as a systems or project engineer in the material handling industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information to senior management and customers.
  • High level of AutoCAD proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or other advanced training.
