Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for food service and a commitment to working with elderly and healthcare patients.
  • Possess or be eager to acquire culinary skills and food preparation techniques.
  • Understand or be willing to learn about therapeutic and modified dietary requirements to effectively prepare and serve patient meals.
  • Read and interpret standardized recipes to ensure quality and quantity in food production.
  • Have knowledge of, or be willing to learn, proper sanitation practices and apply them consistently.
  • Perform repetitive tasks with diligence and attention to detail.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Follow both oral and written instructions accurately.
  • Read, write, speak, and comprehend English proficiently.
  • Understand labels on chemicals and MSDS sheets, using these products safely and correctly.
  • Maintain good mental and physical health.
  • Collaborate effectively with all dietary partners and departments, adhering to established policies.
  • Fulfill job responsibilities reliably and arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
  • Obtain or possess a Food Handlers Certificate or complete a Sanitation Course as mandated by state regulations.
  • Work under supervision and guidance.
  • Bring prior cooking experience to the role.
