Position Overview
Are you ready to take on a role that makes a significant impact? Join our team at Star Construction, LLC as a Directional Drill Operator. In this position, you will be responsible for operating various machinery essential for underground construction and utility projects, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate drilling machinery on-site, including but not limited to Directional Drills, Backhoes, Excavators, Skid Steers, and Vacuum Trucks.
- Restore and landscape areas affected by construction activities.
- Develop and manage a bore schedule to ensure timely project completion.
- Oversee site preparation and cleanup activities.
- Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment as necessary.
- Participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) before commencing construction tasks.
- Establish safety perimeters using appropriate signage and barriers, and assist in traffic flagging when required.
Candidate Profile
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Possess a valid standard Driver's License or a Class A Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement.
- Maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain a safe working environment.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
- Capable of lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs with or without assistance.
- Available for overtime, emergency calls, and weekend work as needed.
- Experience with drilling equipment and an understanding of their capabilities.
- Proficient in using locators to identify utilities safely.
- Ability to read and comprehend work orders and safety protocols.
- Comfortable climbing ladders and machinery.
- Previous experience in construction or utility work is a plus.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
- Exposure to dust, fumes, and potential chemicals may occur.
