Position Overview
As a Certified Surgical Technician, you will play a vital role in the surgical team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing surgical instrument trays and ensuring sterile environments.
- Assisting in patient preparation as necessary.
- Handing instruments to surgeons and assisting surgical staff.
- Conducting counts of sponges, needles, and other materials to ensure safety during procedures.
- Operating sterilization and diagnostic equipment, as well as packaging specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Performing clinic duties such as patient rooming, taking vital signs, and managing phone communications.
Operating Room Environment
You will be part of a dynamic surgical environment featuring 9 operating rooms, with a diverse case mix including orthopedic, vascular, laparoscopic, and robotic surgeries.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- An Associate Degree from an accredited surgical technology program is mandatory.
- A minimum of 1 year of surgical experience is essential.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is required.
Travel Requirements
This position typically does not require travel.
