  • Communicate Effectively: Share company, department, and job-specific information with associates to ensure they are informed and empowered to meet or exceed targets.
  • Set Goals and Empower Associates: Establish department performance goals and empower associates to meet or exceed targets through teamwork and collaboration.
  • Manage Customer Experience: Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions, making suggestions, and locating products.
  • Drive Sales Growth: Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results, create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management, and inform and educate department associates about current, upcoming, and special in-store promotions.
  • Manage Inventory and Pricing: Plan and organize the inventory process, maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions, note any discrepancies, train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO), and schedule daily, weekly, and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.
  • Ensure Safety and Compliance: Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, practicing preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment, notifying store management of any items in need of repair, and reporting all safety risks, issues, and illegal activity.

Requirements:

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with associates, customers, and management.
  • Food Handlers Permit: Hold a current food handlers permit once employed.
  • Math Skills: Possess basic math skills, including counting, addition, and subtraction.
  • Desired Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED, bakery or retail experience, management experience, and a second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing) are desired.
