Job Title: Charitable Advisor

North Park University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Charitable Advisor to join our Advancement and Alumni Engagement team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in securing major gifts to support the university's mission and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive moves management strategy to cultivate and solicit major gift prospects.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, alumni, and university stakeholders to advance the university's fundraising goals.
  • Collaborate with the Prospect Strategy Manager to identify and qualify new major gift prospects and develop a robust pipeline of future leadership donors.
  • Participate in the development of annual fundraising plans, strategies, and budgets to achieve Advancement Office objectives.
  • Utilize Raiser's Edge NXT database to manage prospect relationships, track interactions, and prepare regular status reports.
  • Provide staff support to the University Board of Trustees, senior staff, and other volunteers as assigned by supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively with the Advancement and Alumni Engagement team to achieve annual departmental goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three to five years of progressively responsible professional experience in development or related experience.
  • Highly self-motivated, flexible, and an ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment.
  • Confidence and comfort in engaging with high net worth individuals and in discussing and asking for money.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including comfort with presenting to groups of all sizes, and strong listening skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish effective relationships with North Park major gift prospects, donors, and volunteers as well as Advancement team members.
  • Proficiency with standard office productivity software and constituent database programs.
  • Understanding of and personal commitment to North Park's mission of Christian higher education.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
