About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Seasonal Park Safety Associate. As a key member of our park safety team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our park users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol parks and facilities to ensure a safe environment for visitors
  • Provide directions and assistance to park users, including special event support
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies to enforce park rules and regulations
  • Complete accurate and detailed reports to management
  • Secure park gates and facilities
  • Assist with additional needs in the parks, including medical emergencies
  • Work with evening security personnel to maintain park safety
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and ability to recognize hazards and safety threats
  • Ability to assess potentially volatile or unsafe situations and call for assistance when necessary
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certification and Mandated Reporter certification within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in park enforcement, customer service, or a related field
  • Knowledge of park district policies, rules, and regulations
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Physical and Environmental Requirements
  • Frequently: walking, climbing, balancing, stooping/kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling/feeling, standing
  • Routinely: pushing, pulling, and/or lifting up to 40 lbs. unassisted and at times 41-50 lbs. with assistance
