About the Role

As a key member of the St. Charles Park District team, the Tennis Operations Supervisor will play a vital role in delivering high-quality recreation services to residents, visitors, and the St. Charles community. This position requires a strong understanding of the department's fiscal and operating goals, as well as district safety and overall policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, hire, and train tennis department employees
  • Provide ongoing leadership, foresight, and motivation to tennis department employees
  • Develop and lead direct reports to deliver high-quality recreation services
  • Oversee tennis department operations, including court maintenance and equipment management
  • Develop and implement new tennis programs and special events
  • Manage budgets and financial paperwork
  • Attend employee meetings and training sessions
  • Submit employee payroll accurately and by scheduled deadlines
Requirements
  • High school diploma and two years of specialized training
  • High proficiency in tennis skills, movement, and equipment
  • Excellent customer service skills and planning, organizational, and management skills
  • Professional certification (USPTA or USPTR) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Valid Illinois State Driver's License
  • Maintain current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Recreation/fitness industry experience with four to six years of experience instructing tennis activities and managing a tennis program
  • Collegiate tennis player or 4 NTRP rating or higher
Working Conditions

The Tennis Operations Supervisor will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interactions with residents, visitors, and colleagues. The position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
