We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Seasonal Park Safety Associate. As a key member of our park safety team, you will be responsible for promoting a safe environment in all parks and facilities, ensuring compliance with park district policies, rules, and ordinances, and providing exceptional customer service to park users.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol parks and facilities to ensure safety and enforce park district policies, rules, and ordinances.
- Provide directions and assistance to park users, including special event support.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies to ensure safety in the parks and enforce park district policies, rules, and ordinances.
- Complete accurate and detailed reports to supervisors and park safety team members.
- Secure park gates and facilities, and transport and deposit funds collected from park facilities.
- Attend staff and program-related meetings as required.
- Follow all safety procedures and support the park district's safety program.
- A valid driver's license and ability to recognize hazards and safety threats.
- Ability to assess potentially volatile or unsafe situations and call 911 and supervisor when necessary.
- CPR/AED/First Aid Certification and Mandated Reporter certification within 30 days of hire.
- Preferred experience in overseeing grounds and facilities, working with the public, and special events.
This is a seasonal position, averaging 30 hours per week, with a range of hearing and vision that allows the employee to safely complete the essential duties of the position. The St. Charles Park District is an equal opportunity employer under all state and federal laws and regulations.
