Job Overview: We are in search of a meticulous Purchasing Clerk to become a vital part of our team at PeopleShare. This role involves managing accounts payable discrepancies, aiding in inventory assessments, scrutinizing invoices, executing receipt of goods and invoice entries, and ensuring the accuracy of data within our systems. The ideal candidate will possess robust Excel capabilities, exhibit proactive communication, and demonstrate effective time management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Timely resolution of accounts payable discrepancies.
- Support in occasional physical inventory counts and update records accordingly.
- Examine invoices for accuracy and confirm the receipt of products and services.
- Accurately perform receipt of goods and invoice entries in a timely manner.
- Maintain data integrity in our systems and enhance transactional processes.
- Evaluate supplier performance and engage in audit controls.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned.
- Preferred: Associate's degree in a business-related discipline.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in purchasing or related education preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly with intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Experience in chemical and/or manufacturing sectors is advantageous.
- Familiarity with data entry and inventory management systems.
- Proven ability to manage time efficiently and work independently.
- Strong communication skills to notify purchasing and accounts payable of potential issues.
- Detail-oriented with accurate data entry capabilities and the ability to spot discrepancies.
- History of following up with vendors regarding orders and identifying delays.
- Ability to foster and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and vendors.
- Comfortable operating in a plant or warehouse environment.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk.
- Capable of lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Work environment: Office setting with some warehouse interaction.
