CERTIFIED MEDICAL/DENTAL CODER (5)

WJM Professionals is seeking a skilled Medical Coder to assign accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT-4, and HCPCS Level II codes based on medical and dental care provided. This role involves performing a full range of professional coding concepts and practices.

Key Responsibilities:
    • Follow industry-standard coding guidelines.
    • Coding for billable and non-billable patient encounters.
    • Code assignment using National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), American Hospital Association (AHA), AMA, and APA guidelines.
    • Bundling codes following CCI Guidelines and HCPCS use.
    • Identifying and abstracting information from medical records.
    • Interacting with MTF staff to ensure documentation clarity.
    • Maintaining delinquency reports of missing records.
    • Ensuring complete and accurate medical records comply with USCG and DHS requirements.
    • Utilizing Coding Compliance Editor software.

Requirements:
    • A Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coder Specialist-Physician (CCS-P) with 36 months experience within the last 60 months.
    • Certification from an accrediting institution recognized by AHIMA and/or AAPC.
    • Contract coders must maintain current and proper national certification(s).

Estimated salary for this position is $50,000 - $70,000 per year. Salary may vary depending on qualifications and location. We offer competitive benefits and opportunities for growth.
