About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at ColumbiaCare Services. As a key member of our Rental Assistance Program (RAP), you will work directly with individuals who face complex challenges in navigating housing and benefits systems.

Our RAP Peer Support Specialists work closely with Veterans, Transition Aged Youth (TAY) clients, and individuals with serious mental illness to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. You will utilize your lived experience to build connections, motivate individuals, and engage them in community resources.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct housing searches and access community resources to support individuals in achieving stable housing
  • Utilize strategic self-disclosure of lived experience to build trust and normalize mental health challenges
  • Motivate individuals with behavioral health challenges to maintain apartments and engage in good tenant/neighbor practices
Requirements
  • Personal experience with mental health challenges
  • Certification and registration as a Peer Support Specialist (PSS) or Peer Wellness Specialist (PWS) through the Oregon Health Authority (OHA)

Driving is an essential function of this position, and successful applicants must have a valid Oregon driver's license, maintain a safe driving record, and pass a DHS criminal background check.

Estimated salary: $48,000 - $52,000 per year based on a 40-hour workweek.
