Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team at the Coos County Correctional facility in Coquille, Oregon. As a Mental Health Specialist, you will work closely with incarcerated individuals to evaluate and address their mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and treat mental health issues among incarcerated individuals
  • Respond to mental health emergencies within the facility
  • Provide individual counseling and group therapy sessions
  • Collaborate with psychiatric practitioners to develop treatment plans
  • Monitor medication compliance and report to the Health Services Administrator
  • Deliver care in accordance with established MedTrust policies and procedures
  • Refer patients to community resources for post-release support
  • Communicate patient concerns to medical and security personnel
  • Initiate involuntary hospitalization paperwork as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Licensed Master's level clinician (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LPC)
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience after licensure
  • BLS certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • Corrections experience preferred
