Position Overview

The People Operations Manager at Carolina Therapeutic Services will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's human capital strategy. This position is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive human resources policies and procedures that ensure compliance and mitigate regulatory risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Policy Development: Formulate and enforce human resources policies to maintain compliance and address regulatory challenges.
  • Reporting: Generate and present reports for the Board of Trustees, ensuring that all necessary actions are executed effectively.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership to identify and address growth opportunities, recruitment needs, and enhancements to benefits and policies.
  • Recruitment Oversight: Manage the entire recruitment lifecycle, from job postings to onboarding, ensuring a seamless process for new hires.
  • Onboarding Management: Design and oversee the onboarding process, including orientation sessions and compliance with background checks and documentation.
  • Performance Management: Implement and supervise the employee performance review system, providing training for managers on evaluations and development plans.
  • Employee Evaluation: Establish procedures for employee assessments, corrective actions, and salary reviews.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide the HR team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Staff Support: Act as a primary resource for employees regarding all human resources matters.
  • Offboarding Coordination: Manage the offboarding process for departing staff, including conducting exit interviews and ensuring proper documentation transfer.
  • Audit Assistance: Collaborate with the finance team to prepare necessary documentation for audits and compliance reporting.
Qualifications
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is required; a master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
  • Certifications: PHR or SHRM-CP certifications are preferred; SPHR or SHRM-SCP is a plus.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role and 2-3 years in nonprofit organizations is required, along with over 5 years of progressive human resources experience, particularly in benefits management.
  • Technical Skills: At least 2 years of experience with HRIS and/or ATS systems, with a preference for Paylocity HRIS and ATS OnTarget; familiarity with Vairkko is advantageous.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and virtual meeting tools are essential.
  • Legal Knowledge: In-depth understanding of employment laws and regulations is crucial.
