GENERAL SUMMARY

The Service Manager plays a pivotal role within the Credit Union branch environment. This position is dedicated to delivering exceptional service while embodying the mission of "Empowering People to Enhance Lives". This role encompasses the overall management of daily operations at the credit union branch, including staff supervision, compliance adherence, and operational efficiency. The Service Manager is responsible for fostering member relations and ensuring that the branch is staffed with highly skilled and well-trained personnel. A significant aspect of this role involves working closely with branch staff to coach, support, and reinforce sales and service expectations. Collaboration with the Retail Service Manager and Market Managers is essential to achieve sales and service objectives aligned with the Credit Union's core values and strategic goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develop and mentor both new and existing staff in their roles as Member Advisors.
  2. Assess job performance of branch employees to ensure high-quality service delivery to members, recommending salary adjustments based on evaluations.
  3. Maintain open communication with management regarding any pertinent issues, developments, or changes within the area of responsibility.
  4. Encourage teamwork among staff members and across branches to ensure prompt and courteous service to members.
  5. Lead and promote a sales and service culture that drives branch growth and profitability while striving for member satisfaction through committed service.
  6. Foster the SouthPoint Financial Credit Union member service culture, ensuring quality and teamwork throughout the organization.
  7. Implement and uphold operational procedures to maximize efficiency and ensure consistent superior service to members.
  8. Actively engage in community relations initiatives to enhance the mission and visibility of SouthPoint Financial Credit Union.
  9. Oversee branch security and safety by adhering to established policies and procedures.
  10. Facilitate ongoing training and cross-selling programs to enhance individual development in sales, service, and product knowledge.
  11. Manage vault cash, ATM, TCR, and cash orders.
  12. Assist with end-of-day balancing for Member Advisors as needed.
  13. Ensure the branch facility is well-maintained, clean, and orderly.
  14. Adhere to all written policies and procedures of the credit union, including compliance monitoring and reporting.
  15. Coordinate work schedules to maintain adequate coverage during operating hours.
  16. Encourage staff to pursue educational opportunities through courses, seminars, or conferences.
  17. Perform additional duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Participate in meetings, conferences, seminars, and training sessions.
  2. Assist with Credit Union examinations and audits as necessary.
  3. Coordinate with vendors as required.
  4. Engage with members and employees to address concerns or issues.
  5. Comply with all Bank Secrecy Act responsibilities associated with this role.

  1. Possess strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with members, employees, and vendors.
  2. Exhibit excellent member service skills and maintain a professional image.
  3. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing job requirements.
  4. Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats with all employees and members.
  5. Manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of organization.
  6. Be self-motivated and capable of setting and clarifying goals.
  7. Work independently while identifying necessary tasks.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Three years of progressive experience in a financial institution preferred, or a two-year degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  3. Minimum of one year of management or supervisory experience preferred.
  4. Intermediate mathematical skills required.
  5. Proficiency in automated systems is necessary.
  6. Must meet SAFE ACT registration requirements.
  7. Thorough knowledge of the Credit Union's policies, procedures, programs, products, and services is essential.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Primarily sitting (90-95%) with occasional standing (5-10%).
  2. Working at a computer for approximately 85% of the day.
  3. Occasional lifting of up to ten pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Typical administrative setting with climate control and appropriate lighting.
