**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Provide sales assistance to customers on orders and returns, ensuring accurate and timely resolution of issues.
  • Successfully complete company-provided forklift operator training program and maintain authorization through safe operation and following of procedures.
  • Operate forklift to load and unload trucks and rail cars as directed by supervisor, ensuring safe and efficient handling of merchandise.
  • Assist truck drivers in loading and unloading merchandise, ensuring it is safely and properly handled to prevent damage.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of necessary reports, including checks on orders filled, material received, and forklift inspections.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Perform duties in a safe manner, observing safe procedures while constantly alert to any unsafe working conditions.

**Requirements:**

  • High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED).
  • Ability to operate a forklift with hand and foot controls.
  • Ability to do basic math, read instructions, and complete forms.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work with customers, associates, and supervisors.
  • Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques.
  • Ability to lift up to, and including, 100 lbs. on a repetitive basis.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Minimum 3 months experience in building materials industry.
