Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator to join our team at the County of Galveston Texas. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and coordination skills to support the development and implementation of emergency management plans and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Maintain Emergency Management Plans: Create, review, and update emergency management plans, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate Training and Exercises: Plan, organize, and conduct training sessions and exercises to ensure that emergency management personnel are equipped to respond to emergencies effectively.
  • Build Consensus and Collaborate: Work with stakeholders, including emergency management personnel, local government officials, and community leaders, to build consensus and ensure effective collaboration on emergency management initiatives.
  • Provide Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and guidance to emergency management personnel on emergency management policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support Project Management: Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of emergency management projects, including budgeting, resource allocation, and project evaluation.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong Leadership and Coordination Skills: Proven ability to lead and coordinate teams, build consensus, and ensure effective collaboration.
  • Emergency Management Experience: Significant experience in emergency management, including planning, training, and response.
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in emergency management software, systems, and tools, including data analysis and reporting.
