Logistics Support Technician III / Hazmat

Salary: $46.00/hour DOE

Position Overview

Tactical Air Support, Inc. is in search of a skilled Logistics Support Technician to enhance its expanding maintenance and logistics divisions. The Logistics Division is responsible for managing a vast inventory of over 17,000 aircraft parts and is establishing a robust logistics support network with industry leaders. The Logistics Support Technician plays a crucial role within a dedicated team of professionals who are focused on achieving results, fostering collaboration, and growing alongside this dynamic organization.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate for the Logistics Support Technician role will possess a solid background in aviation logistics and inventory management to support aircraft and flight operations. Reporting directly to the Senior Site Maintenance Manager, this position entails:

  • Executing daily operations including order fulfillment for multiple company locations and clients.
  • Issuing purchase orders and managing the distribution of materials.
  • Conducting research, validating, and initiating requisitions, along with daily correspondence and reporting.
  • Assisting in the product life cycle management.
  • Organizing, ordering, and monitoring the usage of hazardous materials.

The successful candidate must be well-versed in Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations, along with mandated Quality Assurance, Security, Explosive Safety, and other relevant company program requirements. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics supporting military operations or equivalent organizations.
  • Proven ability to maintain accurate inventory accountability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with the shipping, receiving, and handling of hazardous materials.
  • Willingness to travel regularly (25%) to various work sites across the U.S.
  • Possession of a valid state driver's license.
  • U.S. Citizenship with the capability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Preferred Experience/Skills

  • Prior experience in aviation logistics is preferred.
  • Experience with Military Logistics and HAZMAT is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with TCMAX software.
  • Knowledge of inventory control database systems is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds (with assistance if necessary).
  • Regular use of hands and fingers for handling, feeling, or operating objects, tools, or controls, along with reaching with hands and arms.
  • Regularly ascending and descending stairs and/or ladders.

Work Authorization

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States and complete a U.S. government I-9 Form.
  • Tactical Air Support maintains a Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace. Pre-employment, random, or for cause drug/alcohol testing (including for marijuana) is required.
  • Pre-employment and ongoing physical certifications are mandatory.
  • Occasional exposure to aircraft hangar or warehouse environments with loud noises, fumes from engines and chemicals, unpredictable climate conditions, and potential electrical hazards.
  • May be required to handle hazardous materials.
  • Specific work hours will be determined by operational, departmental, or contractual needs.
  • Occasional evening, weekend, holiday, and overtime work may be necessary.
