Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shift Lead to join our team at Sapp Bros., Inc. As a Shift Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our store, providing excellent customer service, and leading a team of employees to achieve our goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Greet every guest with a smile, thank them for their business, and provide exceptional customer service to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Store Operations: Walk the store daily to identify opportunities and implement plans to correct them, ensuring a clean and inviting environment for our guests.
  • Team Leadership: Assist and provide direction to other team members throughout the shift, ensuring they have the necessary tools and support to succeed.
  • Point-of-Sale Operations: Operate a point-of-sale cash register and process transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Pre-Shift Meetings: Facilitate pre-shift meetings to ensure all team members are aware of their responsibilities and expectations.
  • Team Meetings: Attend and assist regularly scheduled team meetings to discuss important topics and address any concerns.
  • Vendor Management: Check in vendors and sign for gas/diesel deliveries, ensuring timely and accurate receipt of merchandise and supplies.
  • Merchandise Displays: Plan and create five-star merchandise displays to attract and engage our guests.
  • Store Maintenance: Restock store items on shelves, deli bar, coolers, and freezers, and help maintain a safe and clean store environment.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with the monthly inventory process in the store, ensuring accurate counts and minimizing losses.
  • Scheduling: Assist with scheduling of staff, ensuring adequate coverage and meeting business needs.
  • Difficult Decisions: Manage difficult decisions on the fly, resolving staffing needs when staff call off for their shift and working directly with Store Manager or General Manager on coverage.
  • QSR Programs: Assist with QSR programs to ensure proper coverage during peak times, including running a QSR register during guest count surges.
  • Maintenance and Janitorial: Help manage maintenance and janitorial teams to ensure the cleanest travel centers in the country, adhering to our cleanliness and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Reliability and Hard Work: Be reliable and hardworking with a positive and friendly attitude, maintaining a professional image at all times.
  • Past Supervisory Experience: Have past supervisory experience, preferred.
  • Strong Teamwork Skills: Possess strong teamwork skills and be willing to learn and adapt to new situations.
  • Minimum Age: Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Criminal Background Check: Willingness to undergo a criminal background and employment reference check.
