About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Scholarly Communications Librarian to join our team at Stanford Libraries. As a key member of our Office of Scholarly Communications, you will play a vital role in supporting the research and publishing activities of Stanford University.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement outreach and education programs on scholarly communication topics, including open access, publishing models, copyright, and research impact.
  • Create and maintain information resources on scholarly communication topics.
  • Provide consultation services on scholarly communication issues to Stanford faculty, staff, and students.
  • Provide training on the use of scholarly communication-related tools and platforms.
  • Collaborate with staff across the libraries on scholarly communications-related projects and services.
Requirements

To qualify for this role, you will need:

  • An advanced degree in Library Science or a relevant academic discipline.
  • Demonstrated understanding of academic libraries, research, and/or scholarly publishing.
  • Two or more years of relevant experience in a library setting or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Desirable Skills and Experience

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Experience with institutional repository workflows.
  • Familiarity with data management, manipulation, and/or visualization.
  • Knowledge of scholarly identifiers, bibliometric data sources, and related scholarly communication infrastructure.
