Join Our Team as a Practical Nursing Specialist

Premise Health is excited to announce an opportunity for a full-time Practical Nursing Specialist to become a vital part of our healthcare team. We are dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to our patients.

Work Schedule:
  • 10-hour shifts from 7 AM to 6 PM
  • Saturday rotation approximately every 6 weeks from 8 AM to 12 PM

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct patient interviews to assess medical issues and accurately document findings for the physician.
  • Measure and record vital signs and weight of patients.
  • Assist physicians during patient examinations as required.
  • Review and discuss physician's orders, lab requests, and follow-up needs with patients.
  • Document all services rendered on the appropriate forms.
  • Perform wound dressing as instructed and apply compresses, ice, and heat packs as necessary.
  • Monitor patients and report any adverse reactions to medications or treatments to the supervising medical personnel.
  • Administer prescribed medications via oral, subcutaneous, or intramuscular routes, ensuring accurate documentation of time and dosage.
  • Utilize clinic equipment effectively.
  • Collect samples, including urine, blood, and sputum, for laboratory testing and perform routine tests on these samples.
  • Ensure sterilization of equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness of rooms and change linens as needed.
  • Manage inventory of supplies, including restocking and ordering new items while disposing of expired or damaged goods.
  • Respond to patient inquiries via telephone, addressing their concerns and questions effectively.
  • Follow up with patients who miss appointments.
  • Communicate lab results to patients and coordinate scheduling for any additional tests.
  • Facilitate patient referrals through insurance and other medical offices.
  • This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate from a National League for Nursing accredited program with an Associate's degree (A.S.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Current licensure as a Practical Nurse.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support is mandatory; Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification may be required based on the scope of services.
