The compensation mentioned above is a range, and the final salary will be determined based on various factors, including experience and educational background.

Role Overview:

The selected candidate will be integral in executing systems engineering methodologies, standards, and best practices, providing technical expertise across a range of functions such as development, testing, evaluation, training, and configuration management in support of an acquisition initiative. This position will focus on specialized engineering support related to transport and networking architecture, emphasizing both current and future tactical network capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement systems engineering methodologies and best practices within the framework of an acquisition initiative.
  • Deliver expert engineering support across development, testing, evaluation, training, and configuration management.
  • Provide specialized engineering insights regarding transport and networking architecture for tactical network capabilities.
  • Conduct design reviews and perform thorough technical evaluations and assessments of network performance and architectures, including risk assessments and integration strategies.
  • Support Capability Set (CS) and Integrated Tactical Network (ITN) initiatives.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies for communication enhancements.
  • Collaborate with various organizations to ensure interoperability considerations are met.
  • Interpret acquisition documentation relevant to Army tactical communications systems.
  • Translate requirements into cost-effective, standards-based technical solutions.
  • Review performance work statements and contractor proposals for technical accuracy and compliance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, testing, or a related discipline.
  • Secret Security Clearance.
  • At least 10 years of experience in tactical network engineering.
  • Extensive background in network engineering.
  • Proficient in designing and implementing LANs or VLANs.
  • Expertise in routing protocols, multicast, routing configurations, and IPv4/IPv6 addressing.
