Job SummarySuper Micro Computer, Inc. is seeking a talented Firmware Engineering Manager who will be responsible for developing world-class firmware to fully maximize the strong hardware architecture of in-house servers.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating firmware for server products, prototyping concepts, and investigating new technologies.
As a Firmware Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of firmware engineers to design and develop firmware for cutting-edge enterprise products, drive analysis, debug, optimization, and validation of BMC or CMM firmware on complex embedded multi-core architectures, and provide hands-on customer support to ensure the successful adoption and integration of cutting-edge products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Build and lead a team of firmware engineers to design and develop world-class firmware for cutting-edge enterprise products
- Drive the analysis, debug, optimization, and validation of BMC or CMM firmware on complex embedded multi-core architectures
- Drive the triage and root cause of system, driver, and device firmware issues at customer sites through hands-on leadership
- Bachelor's degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science preferred; Master's degree is desirable
- 12+ years of experience in software and/or firmware is preferred
- Solid understanding of PC hardware architecture, BMC, ROT and Linux is required
- Direct experience in managing a team of firmware engineers supporting storage, computing or multi-purpose rack server systems
- Technical proficiency and strong experience in C/C++ for drivers or embedded systems is required
- Hands-on experience with kernel and firmware debugging and protocol analyzers is desirable
$170,000 - $208,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role.
In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
