Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned engineering leader to lead a team of talented engineers focused on battery management, power, and performance for AirPods. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving innovation and excellence in firmware development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the investigation, analysis, and development of new features and technologies
  • Bring up new hardware and silicon platforms
  • Drive custom silicon requirements and validation activities
  • Continuously drive improvements in energy efficiency and battery longevity
  • Work with leaders across Apple to deliver a phenomenal user experience

Requirements

  • 5+ years of proven excellence in firmware, device driver, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years leading an embedded software or firmware development team
  • Expertise and proficiency in C/C++
  • Passionate about developing and mentoring team members
  • BS or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of battery chargers (PMUs), state of health, and state of charge estimation
  • Experience with RTOS embedded development and multithreaded programming
  • Experience with MCUs, peripherals, features, and development environments
  • Able to coordinate the efforts of multiple teams
  • Passion for product ownership and track record of product development

What We Offer

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $208,300 and $313,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation. Learn more about Apple Benefits.
