Job Description

Ultra Maritime, Ocean Systems is seeking a talented and experienced Development Engineer to join our manufacturing team.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and optimize production processes to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules to meet business objectives and customer demands.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues that arise during the production process and implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production processes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor production equipment and ensure it is maintained and operating efficiently.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and techniques to improve production processes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Develop plans and lead new product engineering teams to ensure optimum use of time and resources.
  • Provide technical leadership, ensuring that team performance is aligned and contributes to the overall goals of the business unit.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and influencer to make complex decisions based on advanced analytical expertise to develop innovative solutions and support the decision-making process.
  • Apply a breadth and depth of engineering skills to develop engineering solutions to complex problems within time, cost, and quality constraints.
  • Support the bid and proposal process by leading a portion of the technical proposal effort, including coordinating with other engineering disciplines to identify and manage dependencies to ensure work packages within assigned area will be delivered.
  • Remain current on trends and emerging technologies and tools, including safety, environmental protection, and compliance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations.
