Job Overview

The Senior Quality Assurance Technician plays a pivotal role in supporting HGC Industries' mission and core values by executing various responsibilities to ensure the Quality Management System operates effectively. This position involves leading process and documentation modifications as part of the introduction of new products, utilizing Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools. Additionally, the technician coordinates essential activities to maintain the functionality of both the Quality Management System and the Environmental Management System.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all document control processes and modifications.
  • Prepare and submit Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documents for internal and customer approval.
  • Maintain and update the PPAP Log to ensure accuracy.
  • Monitor customer PPAP deadlines to guarantee timely submissions.
  • Verify and document Supplier certification data as necessary.
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and associated links.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to conduct root cause analysis for system and process challenges.
  • Support record retention initiatives, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
  • Assist Engineering and Quality Engineering teams with APQP tools, including Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Measurement System Analysis.
  • Support the Quality Engineer in addressing issues by completing Quality Alerts and assisting with containment efforts.
  • Engage in various tasks and projects that support HGC's Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain professional interactions with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Utilize computer software to generate necessary reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, maintaining confidentiality and openness to new ideas.
  • Effective oral communication skills, capable of presenting clearly in various situations.
  • Strong written communication skills, with attention to detail in editing and interpreting information.
  • Excellent planning and organizational abilities, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Demonstrated quality control skills, with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Adaptability to changes in the work environment and ability to manage unexpected challenges.
  • Dependability in attendance and task completion, responding positively to management feedback.
  • Commitment to safety and security protocols in the workplace.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Preferred two years of experience in Quality Assurance and inspection within a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience as a Quality System Coordinator or Document Control Coordinator is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with APQP tools is preferred.
  • Internal Audit Certification for ISO is a plus.
  • Experience in Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis is preferred.
  • A strong willingness to learn new processes and procedures is essential for success at HGC.
Physical and Environmental Demands

This role requires the ability to sit, type, stand, and walk for extended periods, as well as occasionally bend, lift (up to 50 lbs.), and engage in rapid reflex movements. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
