The Speech Language Pathologist will conduct thorough patient evaluations, create personalized treatment strategies, and collaborate with educators, family members, and other healthcare professionals. This role involves delivering therapy, tracking patient progress, and keeping patients and their families informed about new treatment options and therapy methodologies.

The Speech Language Pathologist will assess, diagnose, screen, and prevent disorders related to language, speech, and swallowing. Effective communication with patients and collaboration with their families, physicians, and educators are essential for designing successful treatment plans. Utilizing established therapies alongside innovative approaches ensures optimal patient care. Staying current with industry advancements through conferences, research, and professional networking is crucial. Additionally, educating patients and their families about speech disorders and available therapeutic options is a key responsibility. Detailed documentation of patient history and progress is required.

Additional Responsibilities

The Speech Language Pathologist will participate in interdisciplinary patient care meetings to discuss the necessity of involving other healthcare team members. Timely completion of documentation is essential to ensure compliance with agency policies. Demonstrating commitment to professional development through participation in training programs and maintaining competency is expected. Upholding the highest standards of confidentiality regarding sensitive information is critical. Information should only be shared when the recipient's right to access is clearly established and in the patient's best interest. Maintaining all required licenses, certifications, and skill updates is mandatory. Compliance with all relevant policies, as well as local, state, and federal regulations, is required. Additional duties as assigned by healthcare team members may also be part of this role.

Essential Qualifications

Active licensure in the State of Florida

Current CPR certification

OSHA compliance certification

HIV/AIDS training certification

HIPAA compliance certification

Alzheimer's training certification

Medical Errors training certification

Domestic Violence training certification

A minimum of 1 year of professional or personal experience supporting individuals with disabilities, mental health conditions, or challenging behaviors.

This position involves direct patient interaction and is part of a tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected, TB screening will be required.

A valid in-state driver's license, along with current vehicle registration and insurance, is necessary. A driving record with no more than 2 points in the last 3 years is required. This position is part of a driver safety program, necessitating proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with minimum coverage limits of 100,000/300,000/100,000.

Compensation Overview

The salary range provided reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time employment. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location and individual qualifications, including skills, knowledge, experience, education, and certifications. The salary range is $76,800 - $105,800 per year.
