Position Overview

MEMORY CARE SPECIALIST

This role is dedicated to delivering Activities of Daily Living (ADL) services to residents as per their individualized service plans within a community setting. All responsibilities are executed under the guidance of the Director of Health and Wellness, ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the services detailed in each resident's service plan with a friendly and supportive approach. This includes administering medications in accordance with physician directives and as documented on the Medication Administration Record.
  • Record any observed changes in residents' conditions following local regulations and organizational policies.
  • Coordinate with fellow Medication Aides to ensure consistent quality of care for residents.
  • Engage in meal service activities, including serving, clearing, and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area.
  • Promote teamwork among colleagues, proactively address challenges, and take actions that positively influence co-workers, residents, and visitors.
  • Proactively seek and undertake additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Genuine compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly population
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is mandatory. Certifications as mandated by state regulations are required.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a caregiving capacity or a related role. Supervisory experience of six months or more in a health-related field is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret physician orders and align them with Medication Administration Records for residents. A solid understanding of medical terminology is essential for medication administration and communication with healthcare professionals.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel, along with a basic understanding of human resource regulations, is advantageous.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
