The Medication Technician administers medications to residents and ensures professional, compassionate, and quality care for all residents. Works with other Caregivers towards overall resident care.
Key Responsibilities- Administers medications as ordered by a physician and under the supervision of the delegating nurse.
- Assists residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL's).
- Takes and records vital signs, measures intake, and collects specimens as ordered.
- Completes incident reports for any incidents occurred on assigned shift.
- Supports resident care plan and facilitates resident group activities and care conferences.
- Engages residents in meaningful conversation and activities related to their individual interests.
- Maintains a professional approach to responsibilities, including uniform, start times, absenteeism, confidentiality, and communication with residents, family members, and staff.
- Supports new resident welcome and assimilation process.
- Monitors residents for changes in condition and reports changes to delegating nurse.
- Assists with resident room, bathroom, and common area cleanliness, and other housekeeping duties as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Complete 12 hours of continued education courses annually.
- Must be fluent in English and able to read and interpret documents, write reports, and solve practical problems.
