Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Steward to join our Food and Beverage team at Marriott International, Inc. As a Steward, you will play a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness and organization of our food service and preparation areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate all ware-washing machinery to ensure cleanliness and sanitation of food service and preparation ware.
  • Scrape and spray all food service ware before it enters the ware-washing machine to prevent damage and ensure cleanliness.
  • Rack all china and glassware properly according to type and size to avoid breakage and ensure efficient use of space.
  • Separate all food service ware and store properly in designated areas to maintain organization and efficiency.
  • Keep ware-washing area clean and safe by cleaning work area, drains, and machinery properly at the end of each shift.
  • Assist in other areas such as setup, silver burnishing, floor porter, and food running as needed to support the team and ensure seamless service.
  • May assist in plating for banquet functions and storing food requisitions to ensure timely and accurate service.
  • Perform special cleaning projects in kitchen areas as assigned to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and ensure exceptional service.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • No prior experience required, but communication skills are essential for guest and staff interactions.
  • Food Handler's Card may be required.

Working Conditions:

This role requires frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 5 lbs. The ability to speak and hear, close and distance vision, and manual dexterity are also essential. The role may involve working in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and humidity levels.
